Location-- Costa Rica is located on North America, in Central America specifically. It is bordered by Nicaragua to the north and Panama to the southeast. It is also bordered by the North Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea.
Size-- Costa Rica is 51,100 squared kilometers. To compare, Costa Rica's total area is only .63% of the United States of America's total area.
Terrain-- Costa Rica's coastal areas are made up of plains that area separated mountains, or more specifically, volcanoes. Costa Rica's volcanoes are the cause of much of the country's natural hazards, as multiple are still active. The most active volcano erupted as recently as 2010, while another volcano is capable of spewing ash all over the capital city, as has happened before.
Wow, Costa Rica is so TINY! I had to check the percentage (0.63%) to believe it. It's great that you mentioned the volcanoes, that's an interesting aspect of Costa Rica geography that's not found in most other places in the world.
